Who am I, really?

Who am I, really?

That question has actually followed me my whole life. As a child I wanted to belong somewhere. As a young adult I lost myself as a people pleaser. Until I learned that coming home starts with yourself.

That question has actually followed me my whole life.

I'm Jenny. Born as an Afghan Hindu, raised in the Netherlands. And that's exactly where my search began. Because how do you combine two cultures, two worlds and different expectations, without losing yourself along the way?

As a child, I mainly wanted to belong somewhere.

But often it felt like I didn't quite fit in anywhere.

In the Netherlands, I was the girl with a different background. At home, I lived by the norms, values and traditions of my culture. And within both worlds, I sometimes felt different.

The girl with tattoos.

The girl who danced.

The girl who made her own choices.

The girl who didn't always fit within the expectations of others.

For years I tried to adapt. I wanted to make people happy. Avoid conflicts. Make sure everyone felt good.

That's how I became a people pleaser.

I often said yes when I actually felt no. I sometimes let people cross my boundaries. And honestly? Along the way I lost myself more often than I want to admit.

But life has taught me that you don't become happy by being who others want you to be.

You become happy when you find the courage to be yourself.

Over the past years I've come to understand more and more who I truly am.

Not the version others expect from me.

Not the version that constantly adapts.

But the real me.

A woman who feels.

Who connects.

Who is loyal to the people she loves.

Who believes that differences don't have to drive us apart, but can actually bring us closer together.

My parents came to the Netherlands as refugees, looking for freedom, safety and a better future.

Only later did I realise how much courage that must have taken.

Their story taught me that freedom is not self-evident. That opportunities are allowed to be created. And that giving up doesn't have to be an option, even when life gets difficult.

I carry those lessons with me every day.

And if there is one place where I have always been able to be myself, it's on the dance floor.

Dance gave me freedom.

A place where background, culture or appearance didn't matter.

A place where people met each other through energy, respect and connection.

There I discovered something important:

That we are much more alike than we sometimes think.

Over the years I've learned that identity is not about choosing between two worlds.

It's about creating your own path.

You can be proud of where you come from and at the same time pursue your own dreams.

You don't have to choose between different parts of yourself.

You can just be completely yourself.

And while I was searching for years for who I was, there were always two people who remained my home: my mother and my little brother.

My foundation.

My safety.

My reminder of where I come from.

And then love came into my life too.

My partner.

Someone with whom I don't have to choose between different versions of myself. Someone with whom I can just be myself.

That may have taught me the greatest lesson:

Coming home doesn't start with a place.

Coming home starts with yourself.

And that's exactly why I create content.

Not to be perfect.

Not to show a perfect life.

But to share the real story.

The lessons.

The challenges.

The growth.

The beautiful moments.

And everything that has shaped me into the person I am today.

So if you've ever felt like you don't quite belong anywhere...

If you're struggling with the expectations of others...

If you want to grow, get to know yourself better, get inspired or simply need more positivity, connection and authenticity...

Then I think you're in the right place here.

Because on this account I share not just my life.

I share my journey.

A journey of self-development, culture, identity, dance, love, personal growth and building bridges between different worlds.

My story is not perfect.

But it is real.

And maybe that's exactly the reason why you want to follow me.

Because I don't show you how perfect life can be.

But how beautiful it becomes when you finally dare to be who you truly are.
